It's a calling...

This last week, I was minding my own business at church, when someone who didn't know me well asked me if I had a decent camera... Well..... yeah, kinda...

So long story short, I was asked to take a couple pictures of our chapels in the Eastern CT region, in part for a publication a local newspaper is doing on CT Churches, and in part for local media publications.

So, I packed my bags with filters and lenses, tripods and remote triggers, and I moved out onto the road. (10 points if you know the reference... )

I dunno - I think they turned out pretty well.

A Pop of Color

At Hartford hospitals complex in Newington, new life is breathed into an abandoned waiting room. Formerly the Children's Hospital of Connecticut, this complex of buildings span from the late 1800's to the 1960's, and is currently getting a series of updates. The former waiting room of the children's hospital in The Curtis building is now the new home of Hartford Hospitals marketing division, and have a funky colorful vibe to encourage their creativity. Will this bring new ideas to the hospital's campaigns? We'll just have to see!

JLC-Tech is a new lighting company with one singular vision: to create unique and useful LED lighting fixtures. Their flagship product, the T-Bar LED Smartlight™, is unique and innovative in concept, and demonstrates how high-performance LED’s can be utilized to create lighting fixtures that are easily integrated into the structure of a grid ceiling, either in new construction or retrofit during renovation. 

This is an installation they did with lighting rep Lighting Affiliates for Yale University's West Campus that showcases their unique vision and product.

At Stanley Black & Decker, its not all hammers and saws. Sometimes its pens and papers... and occasionally a You-tube video or two. At their New Britain Headquarters, their facilities get a facelift equal to the quality of their tools.

I wonder if they used DeWalt (a Stanley brand) to put this place together?

Hartford hospital is one of the premiere medical facilities in the North east, and they are constantly striving for excellence in their facilities. At their Medical Office Building the 80's are out, and we're introduced to a new, modern facility that is as warm and inviting, as it is safe and competent.

Office Environs...

In Windsor, CT, Konica-Minolta has an extensive Business Solutions division. Although well known for their copy and imaging solutions, Konica and Minolta are  also historic photographic leaders, and it was a pleasure photographing their interior spaces.

Interior Motives

Today I spent the morning over at UConn's Greater Hartford Campus Undergrad Building, in West Hartford CT working once again with id3A to document their interiors work. The building is a vintage 60's brutalist building in brink and concrete, and out of this, the designers were able to carve colorful dynamic spaces. Not an easy task, but a successful one.
